Please know that Behavior Therapy Associates’ clinicians continue to be available to provide expert training and consultation support throughout the school year and the summer to school districts, families, individuals of all ages, and organizations to develop and improve social emotional learning (social skills). Our clinicians have extensive experience in the areas of social emotional learning, managing behavior, emotional regulation, developing friendship-making skills, social problem solving, etc. using evidence-based practices. Additionally, as Dr. Michael Selbst and Dr. Steven Gordon are also the co-authors of the POWER-Solving® Social Skills Curriculum (used at HI-STEP®), districts and families can consider incorporating POWER-Solving® as part of their school year program, private treatment, and/or in the home. Spring / Summer Social Skills Groups (Social Emotional Learning)

Behavior Therapy Associates is continuing to provide various virtual/remote supports to individuals, families, schools, and organizations. This includes social emotional learning through our virtual Social Skills Groups (Social Emotional Learning). We are excited to be starting our next round of groups beginning in the spring / summer of 2021.
  • Remotely through video sessions throughout the summer
  • 6 weeks: There will be 14 total sessions (1 parent group, 12 child groups, & 1 individual parent-clinician feedback session).
  • Includes 2 student (child/adolescent) sessions per week over the course of 6 weeks from the week of June 28th through the week of August 9th. This will total 12 child sessions.
  • Parents: Group parent session prior to the 1st child session and 20-minute individual parent-clinician feedback conference following the last child session
  • Typed progress summary
  • Student sessions will last 50 minutes
  • 5-minute ice-breaker activity
  • 5-minute review of prior lesson
  • 25-minute skill building (presentation of skill, discussion, and student practice)
  • 10-minute game playing/interactive activity
  • 5-minute feedback and assignment of generalization activity outside of session.
  • Sessions will run during the mid- to later-afternoon
  • Cost: $975 per student

Training & Consultation to Schools

  • 3-hour virtual staff training to include best-practices for social emotional learning, strategies to support students throughout the summer/ESY, review of the POWER-Solving® social skills materials if the district intends to use these materials (this is the curriculum used at the HI-STEP® Summer Program), and strategies to promote generalization. Fee is $750 regardless of the number of staff attending training. For in-person training, an additional fee will be billed for travel time.
  • Individual Classroom Consultation:
    • Virtual Consultations are individualized to meet the school/district needs and can be spread out over the course of the district’s ESY program with dates to be determined.
    • Consultant will observe the group/classroom remotely during the ESY program (social skills lessons and other key activities of the day such as snack, group interactions), model and/or assist with social skills lessons (e.g., POWER-Solving®) as appropriate to enhance staff skills, Q&A with staff as appropriate, meeting with Case Manager/Supervisor/Director, etc.
    • Cost is $250 per hour
    • **Note that in-person consultation may be provided, with an additional fee billed for travel time.

Individual Therapy, Parent / Training Consultation, & Family Therapy

Behavior Therapy Associates can provide behavioral parent training, individual therapy, and/or family therapy throughout the summer months via secure video sessions. These consist of 45-minute sessions scheduled at a convenient time. The cost is commensurate with the respective clinician’s rate. Please contact our office for more information.
