Challenging Behaviors Preschool through Second Grade: Detection & Prevention

With the signing of bill S-2081/A-3790, schools are required to find alternatives to suspension and expulsion for preschool through second grade. This workshop will discuss the principles of behavior change, identify problem behaviors and explain the functions of challenging behaviors. Participants will gain knowledge on classroom management strategies that can be implemented to deter problem behaviors. Antecedent and consequence programs will be addressed to minimize challenging behaviors in order to maintain students in the school setting.
