Preventing & Managing Challenging Behavior: Evidence-Based Interventions in Schools

Today’s educators are faced with increasingly greater challenges inside and outside the classroom. This includes oppositional and defiant behavior, aggression, depression, anxiety, ADHD symptoms, and other issues. Regardless of the educator’s experience and training, students’ unique difficulties may significantly disrupt classroom management, educational progress, and the classroom and/or school culture and climate. It is critical for successful programming to encompass multiple modalities of support. Dr. Selbst will lead participants in small-group activities and discussions to share success stories and challenges, to learn when more restrictive programming may be necessary, and to promote collaboration.
