The return to school in 2020 presents unique challenges for students. As schools begin to open either in person, remotely or a hybrid model, one thing is certain, school does not look the same as it did previously. This return to a new normal creates increased stress and anxiety for students. Dr. Salzman’s webinar highlights the common triggers for anxiety for those in each of these situations. Some of the topics discussed include coping with the anxiety around the new learning environment, how to help students manage their social isolation, adjust to changes in routines, and the social anxiety some students face by having to be on camera. Often anxiety leads to avoidance. Dr. Salzman discusses how to talk to students to help them overcome these anxious situations.
