As 2025 draws to a close, Behavior Therapy Associates reflects on a year of substantial achievements, marking our 47th year of delivering evidence-based behavioral health services across the state of New Jersey and beyond.
43rd Annual Autism NJ Conference
Behavior Therapy Associates participated in the 43rd Annual Autism New Jersey Conference on October 16-17, 2025, in Atlantic City, NJ. Autism New Jersey is one of the state’s largest gatherings for professionals, autistic individuals, and families.
With about 40 years of involvement, five clinicians presented: Dr. Michael C. Selbst, Ph.D., BCBA-D, Dr. Debra G. Salzman, Ph.D., Dr. Bianca Coleman, Ph. D., NCSP, BCBA-D, Elizabeth G. Callahan, M.A., BCBA, and Dr. Jeniffer Cruz, Ph.D., NCSP, focusing on compassionate, evidence-based care.
Our sessions covered:
- Compassionate and Ethical Care When Supporting Autistic Individuals, emphasizing values-driven, assent-based, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Dissecting Negative Peer Interactions and Bullying, analyzing ASD impacts and intervention strategies.
- Growing Side by Side: Support for Siblings of Individuals with ASD, validating emotional needs and building resilience.
- Supporting Emotion Regulation in Preschool Children and Toddlers with ASD, providing ABA and SEL-informed tools to families of small children.
Behavior Therapy Associates extends our sincere appreciation to Autism New Jersey for hosting another exceptional conference and for providing a platform where educators, clinicians, advocates, and families can come together to learn, connect, and strengthen our shared mission. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing conversation about high-quality, compassionate care for autistic individuals and their families.
40th Annual Association for Applied Sport Psychology Conference
We are thrilled to share that Dr. Ashley Zultanky, Psy.D. presented a workshop titled, “I’m Nobody! Who Are You? Are You Nobody Too? Exposing Imposter Syndrome in Athletes”, at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) 40th Annual Conference in Montreal, Canada! This is the world’s largest annual sport psychology conference.
In a clever nod to American poet, Emily Dickinson, the interactive workshop focused on the all too common experience shared among athletes and performers. Imposter Syndrome (IS) is characterized by chronic self-doubt and the fear of being exposed as a fraud despite objective evidence of competence. This can contribute to increased anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout, which can significantly hinder one’s performance and well-being. Dr. Zultanky equipped sport psychologists and consultants with evidence-based strategies to identify and treat IS using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based interventions. This valuable information helped participants leave with actionable tools to support their clients in overcoming IS and optimizing their performance.
