FreeFunctional Life Skills for Individuals with ASD and Other Developmental Disorders
10:00am- 12:00pm
Presented By: Rory A. Panter, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist
Functional Life Skills are the essential skills that are needed for everyday living, which include skills needed at home, school, and in the community. For teenagers and young adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental Disabilities the learning process for these skills is often quite challenging as they prepare to transition to adulthood. Our goal is for these individuals to gain as much autonomy and independence as possible to become participating members of their communities. This presentation will discuss the importance of systematically identifying and addressing functional life skills, including specific strategies to use.
