Emotional and Behavioral Issues of 21st Century Learners

This interactive seminar will address some of the most challenging mental health and related behavioral issues students experience, including depression and suicide, substance abuse, school avoidance and dropout, and significant behavior issues. Dr. Selbst will discuss the common signs of distress and dangerous coping skills. Effective prevention and intervention need to include early identification of problems, student engagement, home-school collaboration, key resiliency factors, fostering an emotionally and physically safe learning environment, and creating a positive school climate and culture. Lunch will be included and we ask that you please bring a charged device for this workshop.
