TYPES OF CARE

Child Therapy

Children experience a variety of social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges as they grow and navigate the demands of home, school, friendships, and extracurricular activities. While occasional difficulties are a normal part of development, some children may benefit from additional support when challenges begin to impact their daily functioning, relationships, academic performance, or overall well-being.

At Behavior Therapy Associates, we provide evidence-based therapy services designed to help children develop the skills needed to succeed across settings. Our clinicians work collaboratively with children and their families to better understand each child's strengths, challenges, and goals. We recognize that every child is unique and strive to create individualized treatment plans that address each child's specific needs.

Child therapy may be beneficial for concerns such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral challenges, social skills deficits, school-related concerns, attention and executive functioning difficulties, adjustment to life changes, and other emotional or behavioral needs. Our clinicians utilize evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies when appropriate. These approaches are tailored to the developmental level and learning style of each child.

Parents, caregivers, and educators play an important role in a child's success. As a result, collaboration with families and school personnel (as appropriate and with consent) is often incorporated into treatment to promote consistency, reinforce skills outside of sessions, and support meaningful progress over time.

Our goal is to help children build confidence, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and develop the tools needed to navigate challenges successfully. By working together, we strive to support each child in reaching their full potential while fostering long-term growth and resilience.
